The fifth phase of the first installment of Subhadra Yojana is being released today, on March 6, by the Government of Odisha. In this phase, assistance will be credited to the bank accounts of 1,85,000 beneficiaries. So far, around 1.20 crore women have been covered under the scheme across all five phases. The number of applications has already reached 1.08 crore, and new applications are still being accepted. The government has set the last date to apply for the scheme as March 31. Through this scheme, financial help is being provided to many women, making their lives easier.
About Subhadra Yojana Odisha
Subhadra Yojana started on 17th September 2024 and was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help women. This scheme supports more than 10 million women between the ages of 21 and 60. Under this scheme, each woman gets Rs. 10,000 every year. The money is given in two parts, which is Rs. 5,000 on Raksha Bandhan and Rs. 5,000 on International Women’s Day. In five years, each woman will receive Rs. 50,000. The money is sent directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts so they can use it easily. This scheme helps women become stronger and more independent by giving them financial support.

Eligibility Criteria
To get benefits from Subhadra Yojana, a woman must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must live in Odisha.
- Applicant must be a woman.
- She should have an NFSA (National Food Security Act) or SFSS (State Food Security Scheme). If she doesn’t have NFSA or SFSS Card, her family income must be Rs. 2.50 lakh or less to apply.
- Her age should be between 21 and 60 years. Aadhaar card will be used to check her age.
- For 2024-25, she must be born between 02.07.1964 and 01.07.2003.
- If the age of the women becomes 21 after 01.07.2024, she will get money only for the remaining years.
- If the age of the women becomes 60 after 01.07.2024, she won’t get money after that year.
Financial Benefits
- Each woman gets Rs. 10,000 every year.
- The money is given in two parts, that is Rs. 5,000 on Raksha Bandhan and Rs. 5,000 on International Women’s Day.
- In five years, each woman will receive a total of Rs. 50,000.

Ineligibility Criteria
Women who come under these conditions cannot get benefits from Subhadra Yojana:
- If she gets Rs. 1,500 or more per month (Rs. 18,000 per year) from any government scheme like pension or scholarship, she will be ineligible.
- If she or her family member is a current or former MP or MLA.
- If she or her family member pays income tax.
- If she or her family member is an elected leader in a city or village (except Ward Member/Councillor).
- If she or her family member works as a regular or contract employee in the government or gets a pension after retirement.
- If she is in a government board or organization as a nominated or appointed member.
- If she owns a 4-wheeler (except tractors, mini-trucks, and small commercial vehicles).
- If her family owns more than 5 acres of irrigated land or 10 acres of non-irrigated land.
