About Thalliki Vandanam Scheme
‘’Thalliki Vandanam Scheme’’ is a significant step towards implementing one of its key election promises under the “Super Six” guarantees by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the welfare of school going children. Under this scheme government provides financial assistance for the continuation of studies of school-going children. By offering this scheme government aims to fulfill its promises made to the people in Super Six before the election. Under this scheme government allocated a total budget of Rs 8,745 crore for the effective implementation of the scheme in the state, ensuring no school-going children are left out from receiving benefits from the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scheme, applying applicant must have to meet the following eligibility criteria’s which are as mentioned below:-
- Applicant must be a permanent citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
- Applicant in the family must be one person in the household should possesses a rice card.
- Applicant’s total land holding of the household should be less than 3 acres of wet land, or less than 10 acres of dry land, or less than 10 acres of both combined together.
- Applicant’s monthly Electricity utilization (own or rented house) is less than 300 units/month for the household (the average consumption of electricity of 12 months will be taken into consideration.
- Applicant must not own any Municipal property which is 1000 sq. Ft and above.
- Children of the beneficiary should be studying in Classes I to XII in Government/ Private Aided/Private Unaided Schools/ Junior Colleges recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, including Residential Schools/Jr. Colleges. Students opting for ITI/Polytechnic/IIIT (RGUKT) and other similar courses who benefit from fee reimbursement are not considered.
- Orphans and street children enrolled in schools through voluntary
- Organizations will be eligible for this benefit.
- Only the student with 75% attendance in this Academic year will be eligible for extending financial assistance for the subsequent year.
- Applicant’s total household income must be less than Rs 10,000/- per month in rural areas and Rs. 12,000/- per month in urban areas, respectively.

Intelligibility under Thalliki Vandanam
- Applicant or a member of a household is paying Income Tax, the household is not eligible.
- Anyone among the household members who owns a 4-wheeler (Taxi, Tractors, Autos are exempted) is not eligible.
- Applicants with no Aadhar Card are ineligible to apply for the same.
- Any one among the household members employed in any Central/State Government service/PSU or getting Govt. pension (post retirement) are not eligible (Sanitation workers are exempted and all
- employees getting less than Rs 10,000/- salary per month in Rural and less than Rs 12,000/- per month in urban areas are exempted).
- Applicant who discontinues studies or do not meet 75% attendance during the academic year will not be eligible for benefits for the subsequent year.
