About the National Social Assistance Programme
The National Social Assistance Program is a centrally sponsored scheme that provides financial assistance to the financially unstable citizens of India. All the widows, disabled persons, and bereaved families on the death of the primary breadwinner are eligible to avail the benefits of this program. Under the NSAP, the authorities will provide financial assistance of INR 200 to all the citizens who are below the age of 79 years and all the citizens who are above the age of 79 years will get financial assistance of INR 500. This scheme will uplift the social status and standard of living of the citizens who are below the poverty line or who are financially unstable.
