About Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme
Delhi government launched the Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme to provide financial benefits to the senior citizens of Delhi. The current Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs Atishi Marlena recently announced the expansion of the Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme by inviting 80,000 more citizens. The selected senior citizens under the scheme will get financial benefits of INR 2000 per month. Senior citizens, who are between the age group of 60 to 69 and belong to the SC/ST category years will receive a monthly pension of INR 2,000 while senior citizens who are above the age of 70 years will receive INR 2,500 per month
The objective of the Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme
The main objective of launching the Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme is to allow the senior citizens of Delhi to enjoy a comfortable life after reaching a certain age. The coverage of the scheme is very wide because a total of 5.3 crore senior citizens of Delhi will receive the monthly benefits. The Minister also announced that they are planning to extend the scheme for citizens who are specially-abled with a monthly pension of INR 5000. All the senior citizens whose family annual income is less than INR 1 lakh will be selected under the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria
- The senior citizens must be permanent residents of Delhi.
- The senior citizens must be above the age of 60 years.
- The annual income of the senior citizen family must not exceed INR 1 lakh.
- Senior citizens must hold Aadhar linked bank account.
- The senior citizens must not be under any other financial help scheme.
